A view further aft shows centered cabane strut between wing and hull which houses the flight engineer's station. Windows on each side permit observation of each engine.

[EM: Note the wrinkle in the hull below and forward of the blister - is this what retired the plane? Also, the skin on the underside of the wing has been removed, giving a view of its inner construction.

Removal of this exterior wall from around the plane has begun. Our project is under way but we need more funding to preserve this plane for the Catalina community.]
